JOE PICOZZI, son of a Philadelphia firefighter and a special educator, was born, raised, and resides in Somerton. A fourth and fifth generation son of Irish, Italian and Russian immigrants growing up in the birthplace of America, his passion for public service showed at an early age. Joe earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was appointed to the Philadelphia Youth Commission by Councilman Brian O’Neill. After graduating from Holy Ghost Prep and studying government at Georgetown University, he worked for the US House of Representatives and in public policy, where he focused on solutions to restore our cities. He is running to represent Northeast Philadelphia in the PA State Senate. Joe is open-minded and committed to following through on good ideas no matter where they come from to tangibly improve his city & state.

- Delivering more funding to law enforcement for new equipment, higher pay and enhanced recruitment.
- Fighting back against progressive prosecutors.
- Increasing mandatory minimums for criminals convicted of violent offenses.
Fully funding education and targeting money so schools and students, not bureaucrats, have the tools for excellence.
- Championing Lifeline Scholarships and broader school choice efforts.

- Adding more after-school programs, summer programs, and vocational training
- Developing robust community tutoring programs to improve literacy rates.
- Reforming PA’s certification rules to hire more teachers.
- Creating a public/private partnership civic education program.
The cost of living is out of control. Joe will fight to make the Northeast affordable.
- Championing lower energy costs so you pay less at the pump and to heat your home.
- Pushing to reduce Philadelphia’s 3% payroll tax.
- Fighting for new tax credits for small businesses.
- Reforming business licensing to make it easier to get started.

- Hosting monthly in-person roundtable and townhall sessions in the Northeast.
